Erasing, a slight development.

With the explorations of my first erasing experiments, I next tried to push the scale further and rather thanmaking a layer of marks then obliterating the marks in small contained marks with this work I tried to follow the original marks. in some way building a flowing surface that creates a sense of becoming, where before the single erasing points feel slightly disconnected from the original marks it feels like this approach is more intertwined with the original action.

I think that this work could of been pushed much further and I may revisit it but at this time it serves as a reminder of this stage of development.

This Particular thinking is inspired by Cy twombly's use of erasing. I find that erasing and obliteration have strong implications, we can see in the erasing the tension of the artist, trying to find the image their first attempt is not satisfying so the artist must take bold steps to keep up the search.
